“Sure, ” she said. “But the girls needs to earn that. If you’re stupid, doesnt have a degree, well of course your husband is going to underestimate you for the rest of your life. But if you are an independent woman, you have money and a house; no matter what, your husband is not going to hurt you or underestimating you anymore.”

she shrugged.

“Do you know why women stays ‘strong’ even though their husbands abuse her?” she asks. “Some says because of their kids. But some says because they need their husband in order to stay alive. In all honesty, if you’re smart enough and have money, you’ll leave the husband. Take your kids and leave.”
